REES: Born c1779 Llandeilo Fawr. Married MARGARET DANIEL, 25 Nov 1803, Llandybie. 1841 census:  Rees age 60, weaver, is at Pantyffynnon, Trecastle, Llandeilo, with Janet Davies, age 25, William Thomas, age 10, and Evan Davies, age 2. Margaret is not there. Ten-year old William cannot be identified. He might have been a grandson of Rees put with his grandfather to learn weaving. The 1851 census also has Rees, Janet and Evan at Pantyffynon but throws a little doubt on Janet’s relationship as she is described as ‘Lodger’, not ‘Daughter’, and Evan is her son, not Rees’s grandson. Nevertheless, it’s almost certainly Rees’s daughter. Rees is a widower, 72, weaver; Janet Davies, lodger, widow, 30, is housekeeper; Evan, her son is 12, apprentice. All were born in Llandeilo. The baptismal records of the children nearly all give the family’s address as Pentre cwn. Its location is uncertain, but definitely in the Hundred of Iscennen, which included Ffairfach and Llyndybie, south east of Llandeilo.
