(2) John Somerville, "Lieut R.N. in command of the Coast Guard", married MARY FOWLER by licence, Wembury 18 Feb 1837. Mary born c.1815/6. John died in Stonehouse. Possibly the Lieut V. (sic) Somerville buried Stoke Damerel 1841, age 47, in Stoke Damerel MI Index -JH. Mary is in the 1851 census at 3 Ivy Houses, Plymouth, Stoke Damerel, head, age 36, widow of a Lieutenant RN, born Buckland, Devon. In 1861 census at 6 Mill Pleasant, Stoke Damerel, widow, age 43, naval annuitant. In 1871 census at same address, widow, age 55, Lady. Her mother Mary Fowlers (sic), widow, age 91, Lady, born Devon, is with her. In 1881 census at same address, age 65.

Probably son of John & Mary but not named in his father's will, dated Sep 1839 - JH. Married ELIZABETH MARIA PARISH, St Philip's Stepney, Middx (MW); regd St Geo East, Dec 1861. Mate in the merchant navy. Believed to have died when his ship sank with all hands off Singapore (MW).
