Constance Hammond married John Sommerwill in 1908, her younger sister Emma subsequently married George Goney and spent much of the rest of their lives at 19 Ingleway Finchley, London, N12. Following the death of John in the Great War, Constance and her four children and their families lived in or within five miles of No. 19 most of the next 50 years.
A family reunion at Trixie and Ernie Dixon's house in Merrymeet, East Cornwall on Sunday, 10th December 2006
A meeting provoked by Mike Sommerwill returning to England for the first time in nearly 35 years and his brother John from Florida both in London for a niece’s wedding later that week resulted in several ‘émigrés’ from the London branch of the family(C6b) now living in the West Country having an overdue get together.

Middle sitting on chair arm under John is daughter Emma-Grace joining the party from her home near Truro - with her fiancé, Mark West, on the floor in front of her. On the sofa is Lewis’ wife, Sheila, Mike Sommerwill, Trixie (the current matriarch of the C6b branch of the family tree) alongside her grandson Peter.
In front of the sofa on the floor is Marion Mills (Mike & John’s sister) a longtime resident of Weston-super-Mare and Michele (Mischa) Smith(Trixie & Ernie’s daughter and Ché’s mum)
Further, explanation of names
Trixie and Ernest were the hosts. Steve Dixon is their son and Peter is Steve's son (another son, Ben, is away at ‘Uni’ and couldn’t make it).
Lewis and George are the two sons of Constance Sommerwill ’s only daughter, Connie Sommerwill, who married George Elphick, senior in 1935. Son George Elphick (born 1937) in 1960 married Irene who, although not pictured, also joined the gathering later that day. Their family home as kids was a few hundred yards from 19 Ingleway.
Ann & John Lavington are brother and sister and are Emma Goney's grandchildren and as such are 2nd cousins to the Sommerwill side of the family. Constance was their great aunt. Their mother was Mary Goney, Emma’s daughter, who married Alec Lavington. They were all brought up at 19 Ingleway.
