Thomas and Sarah together in 1881 census at New Place, South Stoneham, Hants: Thomas age 28, Railway travelling inspector telegraph department; Sarah age 32.In 1891 at Railway Station, Sherborne, Dorset: Thomas 38, Station Master L&SWR; Sarah 41. In 1901 census at London & S.W. Railway Station Through (Barnstaple Junction), Barnstaple: Thomas age 48, station master; Sarah age 51. Children's births show they lived Salisbury c.1877, Southampton c.1878-1883, Eggesford near Chawleigh c.1884-1887, Sherborne c.1887-1892. Annie died Aug 1928 Exeter (North Devon Journal). Albert lived in Woking, Surrey, at the time of his father's death.

Francis son of William Gay and Fanny Youatt, birth regd Barnstaple Sep 1882; died 1 Apr 1947 at Warwick, Queensland, Australia. Rose died 2 May 1964 in Mt Colah, New South Wales, Australia.
